The Wyoming outdoor community has long known Matt Lloyd as one of the best guides around. Winning the "Top Fishing Guide” distinction at the prestigious Jackson Hole One-Fly event ranks Matt among the most experienced and respected guides in the region. 

Matt's technical mastery and background in outdoor education combined with his positive and enthusiastic approach ensure a great day on the water for all ages and abilities. He has many loyal clients who return year after year to share in special experiences with their friends and family. 

Matt holds a master’s degree in adventure education, is an AMGA Certified Guide, has been a senior-level NOLS instructor, and has guided in the mountains and rivers of Wyoming for more than 20 years. When he's not leading Western River Anglers or guiding guests, Matt's favorite activity is fishing and skiing with his wife, Kerry, and their teenage son, Brooks.

Ben was born and raised in the western mountains and rivers of Boise, Idaho. He grew up fishing well-known trout waters including the Owyhee, South Fork of the Boise, and the Snake and Henry’s Fork rivers. When Ben's not fishing in the summer, he’s out chasing the snow, skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. He's a professional skier for Armada skis and lives in Stanley, Idaho during the off season, where he fishes on the Salmon River and Silver Creek. 

Ben is a calm, patient, and professional guide, making him the perfect choice for both beginner and expert anglers. He enjoys traveling to new rivers and figuring out the sweet spots where the big fish are. You are sure to have a fun and successful day on the water when fishing with Ben! 

Peter is a true Wyoming local, born and raised in Jackson Hole at the base of the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. Peter grew up fishing and exploring the local creeks and rivers since he was strong enough to hold a fly rod. Being brought up surrounded by accomplished anglers and guides has made Peter both wise beyond his years and very passionate about fishing. He has more than a decade of experience exploring the waters in the Jackson region and is enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem as a whole.

Peter is always friendly and energetic, and loves to put anglers on big trout, but he is equally enthusiastic about teaching beginners how to cast and catch fish. His appreciation of the region is contagious, leaving everyone he meets feeling more connected to this unique ecosystem. 

When he is not out on the water, Peter can be found mountain biking, skiing, and spending time with his family and friends. Peter also attends Montana State University, where he is in the Honors Program studying Business Finance, with minors in International Business and Spanish.

Hailing from the sticks of Central Pennsylvania, Derek started fishing the waters in and around Happy Valley before he can even remember. He graduated with honors from Pennsylvania State University’s hospitality program in 2017 and moved to Jackson less than a week later.

His affinity for the water naturally led him straight to a career as a fishing guide, with winters spent skiing and instructing throughout the Tetons. His passion for propagating knowledge and skill make him an excellent choice for any angler.

Whether it’s a 20-something-inch brown or just another white fish, the stoke level and professionalism on his boat always abounds!

Bechler was born and raised in Idaho on the west slope of the Grand Tetons. A true local, Bechler is named after the Bechler region in Yellowstone National Park. Bechler learned to fly fish at a young age. His passion for fishing was sparked from his annual multi-day whitewater trips with his family. Bechler grew up fishing the Teton River, its surrounding waters, and the Salmon River.

When he is not on the river, Bechler loves skiing and wandering in the mountains. Bechler brings familiarity with the local ecosystem and the area to his guiding. From warm sunny days to rain or even snow, Bechler will always be up for a good day on the water.

Kelly brings decades of valuable experience in fishing, the outdoors, and river expeditions to the Western River Anglers team.

Growing up in Whitehaven, Pennsylvania, Kelly spent his early years fishing the Delaware and Lehigh rivers. Following his father's and grandfather's work ethic and angling passion, Kelly also worked hard and fished hard. Kelly instilled these values in his children. He is the proud father of three very successful grown daughters who are college graduates with professional careers, one of whom is a C1-30 pilot in the military!

More recently, Kelly has been guiding multi-day fishing trips in Colorado for Gunnison River Expeditions. His passion for fishing is evident both when he's guiding repeat and new clients as well as in his personal time exploring summertime trout waters throughout the Rocky Mountain West and winter saltwater fisheries throughout the Southeast.

From the mountains of West Virginia, Cymon grew up exploring the waters of the Cranberry River, Shavers Fork, Seneca Creek, and the Elk River. Taught by his dad, a devoted fly fisherman, Cymon gained experience and passion for fishing. The father-son duo continues to share a lifelong, friendly rivalry, always seeing who can land the most trout.

When he’s not fishing, Cymon soaks up everything the mountains have to offer. In the summer, you’ll find him camping and hiking deep in the wilderness. Come winter, Cymon trades his fly rods for skis, chasing fresh powder and quiet lines through the backcountry.
